Student life
Students can choose to live in the dormitories near the campus. The dormitories are surrounded by the lovely natural landscape of the Mount. Carmel, region and dormitory residents can enjoy the great view of Haifa Bay and will have easy access to all campus activities. Students can also choose to live off campus in one of Haifa's picturesque neighbourhoods.
The University of Haifa campus offers academic facilities (library, computer rooms), athletic facilities, health care clinics and frequent public transportation to Haifa's lively city center. For more information, please visit the International school website.
Food arrangements
There is no meal plan at the University of Haifa, and students can prepare their own meals in their dormitories or off-campus apartments. A grocery store is located in the dormitory complex and larger supermarkets are within a short distance from the campus. There are also subsidized cafeterias located on campus serving kosher meals during the day at reasonable prices. Numerous restaurants are located within a short driving distance from campus.
Religious Life:
While the number of observant Jewish students at the University of Haifa is small, the campus is very comfortable for observant students. All campus dining facilities are kosher, and in the dorms you can observe kashrut and Shabbat. Two Orthodox synagogues are located within walking distance from campus and there is a Conservative synagogue and a Reform synagogue a short ride away from the University. All formal activities organized by the International School conform to both kashrut and Shabbat observance, thus - allowing all students to participate.
Haifa also has many churches and mosques, as well as the Bahai World Center on Mount. Carmel.
